Ignorance, greed and aversion which in Tibetian Buddhism are symbolized by The Pig, Rooster, and Snake are known as the Three Poisons. The conflict between the poisons causes the wheel of life to spin and repeat itself. These poisons bite and claw at each other, preventing humans from achieving happiness and keeping the cycle of reincarnation going. This type of cyclical existence is called Samsara and the escape from Samsara is known as enlightenment.
